FO&O , formerly known as The Fooo or The Fooo Conspiracy , is a Swedish boy band from Stockholm made up of Felix Sandman , Oscar Enestad and Omar Rudberg.
Naming
At the beginning of their career the band was called The Fooo . The name was composed of the first letters of the first names of the band members (Felix, Oscar, Omar, Olly). In September 2014 they added the word "Conspiracy" (Eng. "Conspiracy"). It was created by the Scandinavian media, who more and more often referred to the band's relationship with their fans, called “Foooers”, as a “conspiracy”. At the end of 2016 Oscar “Olly” Molander left the band, whereupon the name was changed to FO&O .
Band history
Enestad, Molander and Sandman had known each other since early childhood. They attended the Dance Academy Stockholm together, where they played theater and musicals. They also danced together in the Stockholm-known dance school Base23. In 2012 the three members were registered in a competition organized by Artist House Stockholm. Each performed individually, but the three were then cast as a band. The fourth member, Omar Rudberg, was born in Venezuela but grew up in the small Swedish town of Åsa near Gothenburg . He won his first singing competitions at the age of 13 and was sent to Stockholm and accepted into the band by his cousin Katia Mosally, who worked at the Artist House and had taken on the job of manager of The Fooo.
In early 2013, the band appeared several times on Swedish television, including at the Tillsammans Gala and the finals of the Swedish talent competition Idol (the Swedish version of Pop Idol ). The Fooo made a first music video for their song Kangaroos and published it on YouTube . This video led to an engagement as opening act for Justin Bieber for his appearance in the Ericsson Globe (Stockholm).
This was followed by the first EP named after the band , which was released for download on August 16, 2013 via Artist House Stockholm, and on April 2, 2014 they released their first album Off the Grid . This reached number 1 on the Swedish music charts. The second EP Conspiration followed on August 27, 2014 . Then the name was changed to The Fooo Conspiracy and the third EP Coordinates was released .
In 2017 the band took part in Melodifestivalen 2017 , the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 . With the song Gotta Thing About You they first reached the Andra Chansen round, in which they won their duel against De Vet Du, and thus reached the final on March 11, 2017 in the Friends Arena in Stockholm .
