FORK is a Finnish a cappella group that was founded in Helsinki in 1996 .
Band history
The founding members were the three drama students Mia Hafrén (soprano), Silva Lillrank, Jonte Ramsten (tenor) and the policeman Kasper Ramström (baritone / bass). Since they couldn't form a rock group with the instruments piano, violin, recorder and bass, but they all sang well, they decided to sing a cappella. They were the first Finnish a cappella band, did not orientate themselves to existing groups, but developed their own style, which is heavily based on technology. Their performance consists not only of the singing, but also of the show with humor and extravagant clothing. Her songs are independent interpretations of well-known pop and rock songs, as well as their own compositions. The name of the group comes from the fact that a fork has four prongs and each band member uses a tuning fork on stage.
Since 2004 the group has lived on their music alone. They are one of the best known a cappella groups in the Scandinavian region. Anna Asunta has been a member of the group since 2010, succeeding Mia Renwall. The fifth member of the band is the sound engineer Grégory Maisse from France, who has been with the group since 2000 and is responsible for the sound of the group. All sounds are created using the singers' four microphones and the technical capabilities of the sound engineer. The group has secured its sound as a registered trademark.
Fork has given concerts in Monaco , Dubai , New York , Stockholm and St. Petersburg , among others . In 2013 and 2015 she was seen at the Zelt-Musik-Festival in Freiburg im Breisgau , in 2014 she performed at the Wacken Open Air .
