Fabé Dia

Fabé Dia (born February 14, 1977 in Creil ) is a former French sprinter .

Life

In 1995 she won silver over 200 m at the Junior European Championships in Nyíregyháza .

At the European Athletics Championships in 1998 , she reached the semi-finals over 200 m. The following year, she won the U23 European Championships in Gothenburg in the 4 x 100 meter relay . At the World Athletics Championships in Seville in 1999 , she started in the same discipline in the preliminary stages and thus contributed to winning the silver medal for the French relay.

In 2000 she was sixth over 200 m at the European Indoor Championships in Gent . At the Olympic Games in Sydney she finished fourth in the French 4 x 100 meter relay. At the 2001 World Cup in Edmonton, she was eliminated over 200 m in the semifinals. Shortly afterwards, she won silver in the 200 m and gold in the 4 x 100 m relay at the Mediterranean Games in Tunis . In 2002 she reached the semi-finals over 200 m at the European Championships in Munich .

In 2005 she was again sixth over 200 m at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid . At the Mediterranean Games in Almería she won bronze over 200 m and won the 4 x 100 meter relay, at the World Championships in Helsinki she came fourth with the French 4 x 100 meter relay.

In 2001 she became national champion over 200 m outdoors, 1995, 2000, 2001, and 2005 indoors.

Fabé Dia is 1.72 m tall and weighs 64 kg. In 2005 she married the Italian middle-distance runner Andrea Longo , and in 2009 she took on Italian citizenship.
