Fabian Alexander Maier (* 6. July 1971 in Minden ) is a German journalist , radio - and TV - moderator .

biography

Fabian Maier grew up as the son of a primary school teacher and a doctorate in brewing engineering in Bielefeld.

He presented his first program on the night the Berlin Wall fell on November 9, 1989 at Radio 100 in Berlin , where he later volunteered.

Shortly before and after the unification treaty and monetary union in 1990, Maier was the first West German to work on the DT 64 youth program of the GDR radio station . After the station was closed in 1992, he switched to the private broadcaster Energy 103.4 in Berlin for a short time . For the newly established (public broadcasters) East German Rundfunk Brandenburg (ORB) after he helped the new youth program Rock Radio B build.

From 1993 Maier worked for ten years at the youth radio station Fritz (radio station) ( RBB ), the successor program to Rockradio B and Radio 4 U ( SFB ). He then moved from public law to the private broadcaster 104.6 RTL for two years .

From 2004 to 2014 he was chief presenter at 105'5 Spreeradio and presented the weekday Drive Time "The Fabian Maier Show".

Fabian Maier's simultaneous activity in television brought him to moderation at Phoenix, TV Berlin (Unterwegs in Berlin) and the German-Polish magazine of ORB television , Kowalski meets Schmidt .

Since 2016 he has been in charge of 98.2 Radio Paradiso as program director and is the morning show anchor of the weekday program “Fabian Maier am Morgen”.

Fabian Maier is also committed to supporting young journalists as part of the Institute for Media and Digital Journalism at the Sigmund Freud University in Berlin.

Private

Maier is married to an Austrian psychoanalyst and has one daughter. The family lives in Berlin-Kreuzberg and southern Styria .
