Fabian Steindl (born April 14, 1994 ) is an Austrian Nordic combined athlete .

Career

In 2011 he took part in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2011 in Liberec . He finished ninth in the individual competition and was not used in the team sprint. In the 2012/13 season he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup and reached 46th place in his debut competition on January 20, 2013. Between January 27 and February 3, 2014 he took part for Austria in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2014 in Val di Fiemme . In the individual competition, which consisted of jumping on the large hill and a five-kilometer run, he took 19th place. In the team competition he won gold together with Bernhard Flaschberger , Martin Fritz and Philipp Orter in front of the teams from Germany and Norway.

On November 29, 2014, he completed his second World Cup appearance and collected his first World Cup points with 27th place at the competition in Ruka . With Lukas Klapfer , Bernhard Gruber and Philipp Orter , he took fourth place in the team competition at the home World Cup in Ramsau . At the World Cup in Chaux-Neuve , he finished 16th in his best individual World Cup placement. In the end, he collected a total of 74 points in the 2014/15 season and finished 34th in the overall standings. In the following season he finished 38th with a total of 47 points.
