Fabian von Wrangel

Fabian Graf von Wrangel (* 1651 ; † September 2, 1737 ) was an Imperial Habsburg field marshal .

Fabian von Wrangel comes from the German-Baltic branch of the Wrangel family . He was in the Swedish military service, where he distinguished himself in 1676 at the Battle of Lund , then in the Dutch military service, which he left in 1685 despite the general charge offered to him to enter imperial service.

In this he advanced to major general in 1706 and earned special services during the War of the Spanish Succession during the siege of Brussels by Duke Max Emmanuel of Bavaria , who was allied with France , in 1708.

He then came for a short time to the army of Count Guido von Starhemberg in Spain, where King Karl III. on January 6, 1709 raised to the rank of count .
