Fabrice Verdier

Fabrice Verdier (born December 16, 1968 in Bagnols-sur-Cèze ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 2012 .

Verdier, a member of the Parti socialiste , graduated from high school in 1986 and won his first political mandate at the age of 20 when he moved to the municipal council of Fons-sur-Lussan in the Gard department in 1989 . In 1995 he was promoted to deputy mayor of the municipality and from 1998 also worked as a parliamentary assistant to Senator Simon Sutour . In 2001 he was elected mayor of Fons-sur-Lussan. A year later he became the first secretary of the socialists in the department of Gard. In 2004 he was elected to the regional council of the Languedoc-Roussillon region . With the re-election of Simon Sutour as Senator in 2008, he became his deputy. In 2010 he was temporarily excluded from the Parti socialiste, but was reinstated in 2011. In the 2012 elections he stood for this in the 4th constituency of the Gard department. After he was defeated by the previous MP Max Roustan in the first round , he was able to prevail in the second ballot with 52.1%.
