The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. In the run-up, there was a qualifying round for the individual tournament, in which four starting places were awarded from 16 participants. The winner of the individual competition was the unset German Daniel Brands , who defeated his compatriot Matthias Bachinger , who was also unset, in two sets, both of which were decided in the tie-break . It was Brand's fifth individual title at Challenger level and his second title of the season. Last year's winner Ričardas Berankis did not defend the title this year.
The double competition won the last pairing consisting of the German Martin Emmrich and the Swede Andreas Siljeström . They defeated the top seeded James Cerretani and Michal Mertiňák in two sets in the final . So Emmrich was able to defend his title from the previous year. He also defeated last year's partner Dustin Brown with his new partner Michael Kohlmann in the semifinals . It was Emmrich's ninth Challenger title of his career and the fourth of the season. For Siljeström it was the sixth career title and also the fourth of the season, of which he won three together with Emmrich. Overall, the victory at the IPP Open was the fifth joint title of the two double specialists.
In the run-up to the tournament there was an injury-related cancellation: The Finn Jarkko Nieminen , who was seeded in second place, was unable to take part in the individual competition due to neck problems. For him, Joshua Milton moved into the main draw as the lucky loser .
