The AON Open Challenger 2011 was the ninth edition of the tennis clay court tournament in Genoa . It was part of the ATP Challenger Tour 2011 and was held outdoors from September 6-11, 2011.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. For the individual tournament, a qualifying round with 24 participants took place in advance, in which four players were able to qualify for the main field. The total prize money for the event was 85,000 euros.

In the individual, the sixth seeded Slovak Martin Kližan won the final against the unseeded Argentine Leonardo Mayer in two sets. This was the second single Challenger title in his career. Last year's winner Fabio Fognini from Italy did not defend the title.

In the doubles competition, the top seeded German-Argentine pairing, consisting of Dustin Brown and Horacio Zeballos , won the final in two sets against third-placed Jordan Kerr from Australia and Travis Parrott from the USA. This was Brown's ninth title of his career on the Challenger Tour in doubles and the second this season. For Zeballos it was the 15th title in a doubles tournament at Challenger level and also the second of the season. It was their first mutual success. Last year's German winners Andre Begemann and Martin Emmrich both failed to defend their titles this year.
