Fabrizio Sferra

Fabrizio Sferra (* 9. November 1959 in Rome ) is an Italian jazz - drummer .

Fabrizio Sferra played in the Italian jazz scene since the 1980s a. a. with Enrico Pieranunzi , Massimo Urbani , Antonello Salis , Maurizio Giammarco , Pietro Tonolo , Rita Marcotulli , Stefano Battaglia , Furio Di Castri , also with guest musicians in Italy such as Chet Baker , Lee Konitz , Mal Waldron , Kenny Wheeler , Toots Thielemans and Paul Bley . Especially in the 2000s he worked with Enrico Rava ( Full of Life , 2003; Tribe , 2010) as well as with Danilo Rea and Enzo Pietropaoli in Trio Doctor 3 , as well as with his own formations. In 2007 the trio album Visons was created with guitarist Bebo Ferra and bassist Rosario Bonaccorso ; In 2009 his debut album Rooms was released . In a quartet with pianist Giovanni Guidi , bassist Joe Rehmer and tenor saxophonist Dan Kinzelman , he recorded the 2013 album Untitled '28 under his own name .
