Facundo Díaz Acosta (born December 15, 2000 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine tennis player .

Career

Díaz Acosta played on the Junior Tour and achieved his highest placement in the junior rankings there in October 2018 with 6th place. His best tournament results by far were achieved at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games . There he won the individual silver medal. In the final he had beaten Hugo Gaston . In doubles he won the gold medal together with Sebastián Báez . They won the final against the Taiwanese pairing of Ray Ho and Tseng Chun-hsin . This was also his last junior tournament.

In 2019 he started taking part in professional tournaments. Here he played mainly on the third-rate ITF Future Tour , where he was able to reach the finals three times in his first year, once he was victorious. In Buenos Aires and Guayaquil he was able to celebrate victories for the first time on the ATP Challenger Tour and reach the round of 16. The Argentine's only appearance on the ATP Tour so far was in February 2020 when he received a wildcard for the tournament in Buenos Aires . In his first match at this level he was defeated by Pedro Sousa in three sets. Before the corona-related forced break in March, he won his second future title, which raised him to his career high from 402 in the tennis world rankings.
