FahrBus Ellwangen GbR was a cooperation of three bus companies in the northern Ostalb district . FahrBus was founded on April 7, 1997 by Omnibus-MACK ( Ellwangen ), Regional Bus Stuttgart GmbH RBS and Omnibus Weis ( Neuler ). RBS has now transferred its commitment to its subsidiary Friedrich Müller Omnibusunternehmen GmbH ( Schwäbisch Hall ).

The 26 FahrBus lines connected the Ellwangen area with Crailsheim , Dinkelsbühl , Bopfingen , Westhausen , Aalen , Neuler, Abtsgmünd and Schwäbisch Hall. Around 60 buses were on these lines every day. They served 650 stops. Every year over 3.5 million passengers used the FahrBus omnibuses, which covered around two million bus kilometers.

On December 20, 2011, FahrBus Ellwangen merged with FahrBus Gmünd to form FahrBus Ostalb .
