Falko Hennig (born October 22, 1969 in Berlin ) is a German writer , journalist and stage artist.

Life

Falko Hennig grew up in Ludwigsfelde and Rangsdorf . In addition to an apprenticeship as typesetter at the Ministry of National Defense (1986–1988), he began his Abitur at evening school, which he took in 1988. From 1988 to 1998 he worked as a taxi driver, construction worker, porter, tourist guide, nude model and factory worker. From 1991 he was an editor for the student newspaper of the Berlin Humboldt University UNBIGGED , and with that the first publications appeared. Columns and articles for newspapers and magazines followed since 1994. a. Scheinschlag , the daily newspaper , Salbader. , Titanic , Frankfurter Rundschau , Midwife Info, NRC Handelsblad , Junge Welt , FAZ and Berliner Zeitung .

Since 1995 he has been a permanent member of the Reformbühne Heim & Welt . He also appears on the Berlin reading stages .

In 1996 he founded the Berlin Charles Bukowski Society and is its chairman. He is also co-initiator (1997) of Radio Hochsee . In 1997/98 he worked on the novel Alles nur stolen , which resulted in a grant from Walter Kempowski . In 1999, this resulted in a "very minor" collaboration on Kempowski's Alkor , Das Echolot and Ortlinien as well as on the literature seminars of the north German author. There he perfected his "diary mania", which is "notorious" at his public appearances and readings.

He has been a freelance book author, journalist and speaker since 2000. In 1999 Hennig received a scholarship in the authors' workshop of the Literary Colloquium in Berlin , and in 2002 and 2003 at the Akademie Schloss Solitude near Stuttgart. In March 2002 he was awarded the Five Fingers Book Prize, a challenge cup made of a bronzed hand.

In 2007 he founded the Weltchronik together with Jochen Schmidt .

In 2009 he worked on an anniversary publication for the 300th birthday of the Charité hospital in Berlin and in 2010 published a book with bizarre stories from the history of the hospital. At the end of November 2010, the clinic accused him of plagiarism in the official anniversary book. The Charité withdrew the anniversary publication and initiated legal action, which was settled in early April 2012.

Falko Hennig is married, has two daughters from a previous relationship and lives in Berlin. He is an active member of the Autonama national football team .
