Jakob Hein (2018)

Jakob Hein (born October 25, 1971 in Leipzig , GDR ) is a German writer and doctor.

Life

Jakob Hein is the second son of the writer Christoph Hein and the film director Christiane Hein. He attended the special school for mathematics Heinrich Hertz in Berlin, which he graduated from high school in 1990. Hein studied medicine in Berlin, Stockholm and Boston and did his doctorate in 2000 at the Humboldt University in Berlin with the thesis The specific disorder of arithmetical skills .

From 1998 he was a doctor, from 2005 a senior physician in the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Berlin University Hospital Charité . Since 2011 he has been working as a resident doctor for child and adolescent psychiatry as well as for psychiatry and psychotherapy.

In 1998 he joined the Berliner Lesebühne Reformbühne Heim & Welt , which regularly appears in the Kaffee Burger, and tried his hand at the microphone together with other colleagues (including Ahne , Falko Hennig , Heiko Werning , Uli Hannemann and at times also Wladimir Kaminer ) on lecture forms between slam poetry , Stand-up comedy and author reading . This history of genesis is particularly noticeable in his first two books: Hein's stories are often short, full of wit and also deal with very everyday topics. Later he hardly published any short stories, but works like the novel Herr Jensen rises , which was on the Spiegel bestseller list for weeks .

In 2010 Hein wrote the play Johnny Chicago or Super is not an expression at all , which premiered at the Volksbühne in Berlin . The Berlin comedian Kurt Krömer took on the leading role, while Hein himself played the second leading role. In 2017, the comedy Zwei Bauern und kein Land was broadcast on ARD , for which Hein and Robert Krause wrote the script. The film received positive reviews and reached almost four million viewers. Together with Kurt Krömer, he moderated the podcast "Two men - three worlds: Krömer and friends" of the RBB program Radio Eins in the 5th season .

Hein lives in Berlin with his wife and two sons.
