The Faminseln are a group of islands in the Halmahera Sea . They belong to the Indonesian archipelago Raja Ampat .

The Faminseln are located at the western end of the Dampierstrasse (West Papua) , northwest of the Vogelkop Peninsula of New Guinea , in the northwest of Raja Ampat. To the east are the Woodford Reefs , to the northeast are the islands of Waigeo and Gam , to the northwest the island of Gag and southwest the island of Batanta . To the west are the small islands of Mios , Mios Ga , Miosging and Yef Doif .
The islands form a small arch, in the center of which lies the main island Fam with the places Fam and Saukabu . To the north are the islands of Penemu ( Groß-Fam , Fam Besar ) and Keroeo . South of the island of Fam are the islands of Manaru , Nokkor , Inus , Naffi , Ba , Fambemuk , Groß- and Kleinanau . The arch of the island ends in the southwest with the islands of Yar and Mingiman . Ambambee Island is just off Fam's northwest coast .
The Faminseln belong to the district of West Waigeo Islands ( Waigeo Barat Kepulauan ) in the administrative district of Raja Ampat (province of West Papua ).
