Fanatic Bastards (formerly FBOD ) is a German power rock band that was founded in 2008.
history
After the founding of the Fanatic Bastards, formerly FBOD, in 2008, the power rock band won the Riesa Rockt Band Contest and several other band competitions in the same year. With the prize money won in these band competitions and the subsequent stays in the recording studio, they produced their first CD "Full Pipe". After that, the group became known primarily through gigs and concerts, including joint appearances with Jennifer Rostock , the Killerpilzen and Thomas Godoj .
In 2009 they played their first tour on the main stage at the Harley Days Hannover in front of more than 10,000 visitors. The following CD "Waiting For" (October 2010) occupied the Top 20 of the German Alternative Charts and the MDR Jump Community Charts for eight weeks and was played by radio stations across the country.
In December 2010 the FBOD received the “28. German Rock & Pop Prize "as" Best New Rock & Pop Artist "and are thus in a row with artists such as Juli and Luxuslärm . In the following month, they were named Newcomer of the Month by the music magazine Tonspion .
In 2011, the band started a series of Youtube campaigns that included singing and video competitions, as well as tutorials and interviews. Thanks to this closeness to fans, the Fanatic Bastards made it to the top 40 of the most subscribed German musicians in December 2011 with around 30,000 YouTube subscribers. In May 2011 they prevailed against over 1000 other bands and reached the " Rock am Ring " final in Cologne. After several successful concerts in the summer, the band released their CD "I Find My Way" in October 2011. At the end of 2011 the fanaticbastards were selected by the jury consisting of artists such as the Donots , 2raumwohnung and other representatives of the media industry for the finals of the Greenality Band Contest.

The band Fanatic Bastards generally classifies their songs written in English as power rock. The Fanatic Bastards repertoire offers a wide range of acoustic pieces through pop-heavy to very rocky songs. The band's concerts are mostly characterized by fast and instrumental titles, close proximity to the audience and original shows. The Fanatic Bastards attach great importance to the depth and authenticity of their self-composed and self-written songs.
social commitment
The members of the Fanatic Bastards are known for their social commitment, their moral courage and their high ideals. Ever since it was founded, the band has been staging and organizing non-profit concerts and festivals on a regular basis, the proceeds of which go to social youth projects that are difficult to support. These include the "Rock am Bad" festivals in Eppendorf and "Rock am Saidenbach" in Niedersaida and several other events. The Fanatic Bastards also supports the non-profit youth film project SEDICIO in which young people from all over Germany produce a feature film. In their own social activities, the band represents a high level of community and justice. This includes intervening in criminal offenses such as B. Guitarist Robi, who only caught a car cracker red-handed in December 2011, or singer Matt, who gave first aid to a spectator during a concert.
FANatiClub
The FANatiClub is a group of Fanatic Bastards fans from all over Germany, whose members refer to themselves as "Bastards" or "Bastardinnen", which refers to the band name "Fanatic Bastards of Defiance". The central theme of this community is the rock'n'roll lifestyle - "Sex, Drugs & Rock'n'Roll". The FANatiClub and the Fanatic Bastards themselves represent a free-spirited, humanistic and intensive approach to life, in which tolerance and acceptance as well as self-determination and community thinking come first. Among other things, the FANatiClub organizes meetings and bus trips to concerts by the band Fanatic Bastards, raffles off CDs, merchandise and backstage passes or free tour accompaniment with a concert visit, hotel accommodation and common morning pint with the band. For example, the FANatiClub annually organizes the so-called "class trip", during which the fan base and the band attend a larger concert by the Fanatic Bastards in the coach, sponsoring free beer, organizing a picnic and special events. To become a member of the FANatiClub, you either have to register for a concert by the Fanatic Bastards or receive a personal invitation.
