Fanny victim
Fanny Opfer (born September 24, 1870 in Berlin , † March 28, 1944 in the Theresienstadt ghetto ) was a German singer ( soprano ) and singing teacher.
Life
She was a student of Elka Gerster , Selma Nicklass-Kempner , and Raimund von Zur Mühlen . She made her debut as a concert singer in 1892. Her subject was song and oratorio singing.
In addition to her concert career she taught at Breslau Conservatory compartment singing and had in Berlin and private students.
The “ seizure of power ” by the Nazis (at that time she was in her early 60s) restricted her professional activity more and more. Nevertheless, she stayed in Berlin . In August 1943 she was deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto , where she was murdered the following year. The details of her death are not known.
