Dr. Hazel Barton and Nancy Aulenbach are so-called Caver (German cave explorers ) who try under life-threatening circumstances to make new discoveries in previously unexplored caves . They hope that one day they will be able to use the samples they have found in the caves to produce drugs to fight diseases. In the film, they search for cures in caves in Arizona (USA), Greenland and Yucatán ( Mexico ).
