The Faro de Punta Cumplida is a lighthouse on the northeast coast of to Spain belonging Canary Island of La Palma . It is used to determine the position of coastal shipping and is located in the municipality of Barlovento , east of the village of Barlovento and near the Piscinas de La Fajana seawater swimming pool .
The tower is operated by the Autoridad Portuaria de Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Port Authority for the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife). A luxury hotel has been housed in the building since 2019.

The construction of the lighthouse has its origins in the lighting plan of the Canary Islands by a royal decree of April 28, 1857. Construction began in 1861. The lighthouse, made of ashlar basalt, was built on the coast at a height of 34 meters and went into operation in 1867. The 34 meter high, slightly conical tower with a diameter of 5.30 meters at its base has a double gallery in the upper area, which was reconstructed in 1997 with the lantern. The replaced optics of the Faro de Punta Cumplida from 1992 was exhibited in the passenger terminal in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife until 2013 (see picture). In 2013 it returned to Barlovento and is exhibited in the town center.
In August 2011, the lighthouse was equipped with LED lamps to save energy . It emits white light every five seconds with a range of 23 nautical miles .
The tower, which is more than 150 years old, is the oldest lighthouse in Spain and one of four operational lighthouses on La Palma: Faro de Punta Lava is to the west , Faro de Arenas Blancas to the southeast and Faro de Fuencaliente to the south .
Hotel operations
In 2017, the conversion of the building into a hotel was approved for 35 years. After the work is completed, the inauguration will take place at the end of March 2019. The hotel with a swimming pool and a patio offers two two-bed suites and one for up to four people as well as the option of booking the entire ensemble.
