Farruch Amonatov

Farruch Hukumatowitsch Amonatow ( Tajik Фаррух Ҳукуматович Амонатов ; also Farrukh Amonatov ; born April 13, 1978 in Dushanbe , Tajik SSR ) is a Tajik chess player .

Life

Amonatov has held the title of chess grandmaster since November 2002 and is the only grandmaster in Tajikistan after Magaram Magomedow , the first chess grandmaster in Tajikistan, switched to the Russian Chess Federation in 2000 . He graduated from Moscow Technical University of Telecommunications and Computer Science. In 2004 he won the Moscow City Championship. Although Amonatov trained and lived in the Russian capital, he continued to represent Tajikistan in international tournaments. He has lived in Saint Petersburg since 2015 .

In the 2005 World Chess Cup he defeated Michał Krasenkow in the first round , but was eliminated in the second round by Magnus Carlsen . In 2007 Amonatov qualified for the superfinal of the Russian Chess Championship , in which he was tenth. At the Chess World Cup 2009 , for which he had qualified through a zone tournament together with Anton Filippov , he eliminated Sergei Volkov in the first round and failed in the second round to Boris Gelfand .

His Elo rating is 2636 (as of November 2017) and he is now the best player of Tajikistan, with its highest Elo rating of 2650 in July 2008, he was on the 74th place in the FIDE world ranking.

National team

With the Tajik national team, Amonatov took part in the Chess Olympiads in 1996 , 1998 , 2002 , 2006 , 2010 , 2012 and 2014 and the Asian team championship in 1993.

In the Russian team championship Amonatov played from 2004 to 2006 for Termosteps Samara , 2007 and 2008 for Shatar Buryatia and in 2009 and 2010 for Tomsk-400 , with whom he won the championship in 2009. He took part in the European Club Cup in 2006 with Elara Tscheboksary and in 2009 with Tomsk-400 .
