Anton Filippov
Anton Filippov ( Russian Антон Валерьевич Филиппов ; born June 12, 1986 in Tashkent ) is an Uzbek chess player .
He won the Uzbek individual championship twice: in 2005 and 2007. He played for Uzbekistan at six Chess Olympiads : 2004 , 2006 and 2010 to 2016 . He also took part in the Asian Team Championships (2008) in Visakhapatnam .
At the 2007 World Chess Cup he failed in the first round to Vladimir Hakobjan , as well as to Surya Shekhar Ganguly at the 2009 World Chess Cup . At the 2011 World Chess Cup , he beat Sjarhej Schyhalka in the first round and was eliminated in the next round by Étienne Bacrot . At the 2013 World Chess Cup , he beat Yevgeny Romanov in the first round and was eliminated in the next round against Boris Gelfand .
In 2004 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM). The title of Grand Master (GM) was awarded to him in 2008. His highest rating was 2652 in November 2012.
