Evgeny Anatoljewitsch Romanow ( Russian Евгений Анатольевич Романов ; born November 2, 1988 in Kaliningrad ) is a Russian chess player .

Life

Romanov studied law at the Baltic Federal University Immanuel Kant in Kaliningrad.

Chess career

In 1998 Romanow won the U10 youth world championship in Oropesa del Mar , he was European youth champion in 2000 in the U12 age group in Kallithea (Chalkidiki) and in 2002 in the U14 age group in Peñíscola .

In 2000 Romanov was named FIDE Master . In August 2005 he was appointed International Master , Romanov achieved the required standards in February 2003 at the Aeroflot Open in Moscow , and at two international tournaments in Serpukhov in August / September 2004 and February 2005. Since November 2007 Romanov has had the title of Grand Master He achieved the required standards in August / September 2004 in Serpukhov, in January 2007 at the Archipov memorial tournament in Chelyabinsk and in September 2007 at the Russian individual championship in Krasnoyarsk . Romanov took part in the 2011 and 2013 World Chess Cups, but failed in the first round. At the 2013 European Championships in Legnica , he reached third place. Romanow won several international tournaments with the Euroorient Masters in Nice 2008, the Tenkes Kupa in Harkány 2009, the Festival International des Jeux in Cannes 2012 and the LGA Cup in Nuremberg 2012.

His coaches included Vladimir Jurkov, Ratmir Cholmow , Sergei Juferow, Yuri Balashov , Josif Dorfman and Valeri Popov .

Team chess

In the Russian team championship in 2005 Romanov played for debut DWGTU from Vladivostok , from 2006 to 2008 for Southern Urals from Chelyabinsk, from 2010 to 2013 for the Saint Petersburg club Mikhail Chigorin and in 2017 for SDYuSShOR Saint Petersburg . In the German federal chess league Romanow played for the first time in the 2009/10 season for the Erfurt SK . From 2012 to 2015 he played for Sportfreunde Katernberg , and in the 2015/16 season he played again for Erfurt SK . In the Norwegian Eliteserien he played for Kristiansund SK in the 2012/13 season , since 2013 he has played for Vålerenga Sjakklubb , with whom he became champions in 2016 , 2017 , 2018 and 2019 . At the European Club Cup Romanov took in 2012 with Ashdod , 2015, 2016 and 2018 with the Vålerenga Sjakklubb part.
