Eliteserien (chess) 2016/17
The Eliteserien 2016/17 (official name: Codanserien ) was the eleventh season of the Norwegian Eliteserien in chess .
The defending champion Vålerenga Sjakklubb was again champion after a head-to-head race with the Schakklubben av 1911 and the Oslo Schakselskap . The SK 96 Bergen and the north beach Sjakklubb had risen from the 1st divisjon . While Nordstrand reached relegation, Bergen and Tromsø Sjakklubb had to relegate directly.

Game dates
The competitions took place on October 28, 29 and 30, 2016, January 13, 14 and 15, and March 3, 4 and 5, 2017. In the first three rounds there were three competitions in Oslo and three two were held in Bergen , the remaining rounds took place centrally in Oslo.
