Ishav series 2007/08
The Ishavsserien 2007/08 was the second season of the Norwegian elite series in chess , it was named after the main sponsor.
As in the previous year, the Norwegian team champion was the Oslo Schakselskap , which won all competitions. The Selskapet for osloemigrerte sørlandssjakkspillere (SOSS) and the Tromsø Sjakklubb rose from the 1st divisjon last year, and both had to relegate immediately. Game dates
The competitions took place on November 9th, 10th and 11th 2007, January 11th, 12th and 13th, March 28th, 29th and 30th 2008. All competitions were held centrally in Oslo .
Season course
While the Oslo Schakselskap was already established as champions ahead of time, the decision in the relegation battle was not made until the final round. The two relegated SOSS and Tromsø Sjakklubb could have saved themselves through victories, but Tromsø did not get beyond a draw against their direct competitor Akademisk Sjakklubb Oslo , while SOSS even lost.
