Eliteserien (chess) 2008/09
The 2008/09 Eliteserien was the third season of the Norwegian Eliteserien in chess .
The Norwegian team champion was the Moss Schakklub , which relegated the defending champion Oslo Schakselskap to second place. The Trondheim Sjakkforening and the Tromsøer Team Bjørnsen were promoted from the 1st divisjon last year, and both had to relegate immediately. Game dates
The competitions took place on November 7, 8 and 9, 2008, January 16, 17 and 18, March 27, 28 and 29, 2009. All competitions were held centrally in Oslo .
Season course
After the Oslo Schakselskap fell back in the table early due to two defeats against Porsgrunn Team Buer and the Moss Schakklub , Moss, Porsgrunn and the Bergens Schakklub fought a three-way battle for the title. In the end, Moss had the upper hand, while Porsgrunn and Bergen were relegated to third and fourth place by Oslo. The decision in the relegation battle was only made in the final round, in which the Asker Schakklubb claimed the saving eighth place, while the Bjørnsen team and the Trondheim Sjakkforening did not achieve the victory required to stay in the league.
