Farzad Ataee (also Ataie or Atayee ; born March 21, 1991 in Herat ) is an Afghan football player . Since January 2017 he has been playing for the Afghan first division team Tofan Harirod .

Career

For the 2012 season Ataee moved to the newly founded Afghan Premier League to Tofan Harirod . In the first season he was after the final victory against Simorgh Alborz (2-1) with the club of Afghan champions. In the following two seasons he stayed with the club in his home region. For the 2015 season he moved with three other teammates to league competitor De Maiwand Atalan . Here he also scored his first league goal. For the next season the defender returned to Tofan Harirod.

In January 2017 Ataee switched to Shaheen Asmayee and played in both qualifying games for the AFC Cup 2017 against Hosilot FC . He was also used three times at the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup in February 2017.

National team

Ataee debuted in the senior national team on June 4, 2013 in the 2: 3 defeat against Tajikistan . He was named to the final national team squad for the 2013 South Asian Cup . Here he became a regular player in the defense after the 2-0 final win against India South Asian champions. After more than two years of abstinence, Ataee was nominated again for the national team in March 2017.
