Federico Andreotti
Federico Andreotti (born March 6, 1847 in Florence , † October 30, 1930 ibid) was an Italian painter and illustrator.
Andreotti studied from 1861 at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence with Enrico Pollastrini , Stefano Ussi and Angiolo Tricca .
As a young artist, he created a large-format picture depicting Girolamo Savonarola on behalf of King of Italy Victor Emanuel II in 1864 .
He illustrated a collection of short stories by Neri Tanfucio (pseudonym of Renato Fucini) Le Veglie di Neri, paesi e figure della campagna toscana (Neri's vigils, countries and figures of the Tuscan landscape).
He mostly painted portraits and genre scenes in costumes from the 17th and 18th centuries. In addition, he worked on tempera and fresco painting .
He was appointed professor at the Florentine Academy in 1879. He exhibited his works from 1879 to 1883 at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
