Federico Ubaldo della Rovere

Federico Ubaldo della Rovere (born May 16, 1605 in Pesaro , † June 28, 1623 in Urbino ) was the heir to the throne of the last Duke of Urbino, Francesco Maria II della Rovere from the house of della Rovere and his second wife Livia.

On May 14, 1621, the 72-year-old Duke Francesco Maria II appointed his son Prince of Urbino and entrusted him with the government of the duchy, but the young prince suddenly died two years later in Urbino of a catarrh or epileptic attack, man also suspected a poison attack.

From his marriage to Claudia de 'Medici he had an only daughter, Vittoria della Rovere , married Grand Duchess of Tuscany, who was considered the heir to the Duchy of Urbino. However, after the death of the only male heir, Francesco Maria II gave the Duchy of Urbino to the Papal States and withdrew to Urbania, where he died in 1631.
