society

Federico Viñas comes from the youth department of Liverpool Montevideo , where he played in various junior selections. In his youth he left the club and started working as a delivery man. In March 2017 he joined the CA Mar de Fondo and a little later moved on to the youth of CA Juventud de Las Piedras . His early days there were marked by a deficit in training and overweight due to his abstinence from football, but he managed to overcome both quickly and he developed into one of the club's greatest attacking talents. For the 2018 season he was promoted to the first team squad.

On April 7, 2018 (6th matchday), he made his debut in the second-highest Uruguayan division in a 0-0 draw against Central Español FC when he came on for Diego González in the 62nd minute . He quickly developed as an important player in the squad and was given more opportunities to start. Just like on May 12, 2018 (matchday 10) in the 4-3 home win against CA Rentistas , in which he scored his first two league goals for Juventud before half-time whistle. He completed 20 league games that year, in which he was able to score six goals and rose with the club as a runner-up in the top Uruguayan league . Viñas was already a regular player in the 2019 season and scored five goals in 20 league games by the time he moved up.

On August 29, 2019, the Mexican first division club América secured the services of the up-and-coming Federico Viñas on loan for the entire 2019/20 season . A purchase option gave the Águilas the right to keep the striker at the club on a permanent basis following the season. On September 14 (9th matchday of Apertura) he made his league debut in a 1-1 draw against the UNAM Pumas when he came on for Henry Martín in the 76th minute and scored his team's interim goal just 28 seconds later. In the regular Apertura 2019 he played five games in which he scored twice. In the Liguillas of Apertura he achieved his final breakthrough when he promoted his team to the finals in two important tournaments. In the second leg of the final against CF Monterrey scored again, but América lost it on penalties . Due to an international match he did not play his first game in the Clausura 2019 until matchday 6, but scored twice in this 2-0 home win against Atlas Guadalajara . Before the game was stopped due to the Covid 19 pandemic , he had been on the pitch in five games in which he scored three goals.
