Fedir Oleksijowytsch Abramov (born March 8 . Jul / 21st March  1904 greg. In Lysychansk , Russian Empire ; † 5. December 1982 in Dnipropetrovsk , Ukrainian SSR ) was a Ukrainian - Soviet geologist and mining engineer .

Life

Fedir Abramov studied at the Dnipropetrovsk Mining Institute ( Ukrainian Дніпропетровський гірничий інститут ) until 1930 , at which he also taught after completing his studies (from 1952 as a professor) and received his doctorate in 1952.

From 1962 he worked at the Institute for Geotechnics and Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, first as laboratory director, from 1968 as institute director and since 1967 he was a corresponding member of the academy. His work dealt with mine ventilation and air and gas dynamics in waves.

He died in Dnepropetrovsk and was buried there.
