National holidays in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Holidays in Bosnia and Herzegovina are determined at the entity level and not at the level of the state as a whole. Nevertheless, the total number of public holidays is the same with seven days each and only two public holidays are celebrated differently.

On January 9, the Republika Srpska celebrates the proclamation of the same in 1992 as part of the still existing Yugoslavia .
The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the other hand, is celebrating March 1 in memory of the independence referendum on February 29 and March 1, 1992, which was largely boycotted by the Bosnian Serbs, and the subsequent proclamation of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was independent of Yugoslavia .
The public holiday for the founding of the entire state is also celebrated differently. The Republika Srpska chose the date of the Dayton Agreement on November 21, 1995, while the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina - as in Yugoslav times - chose November 25, 1943, when the People's Republic was proclaimed part of Yugoslavia in Mrkonjić Grad .
