Bácsborsód ( Croatian Boršot ) is a Hungarian municipality in the Bácsalmás district in Bács-Kiskun county . It is located on the small river Bácsbokodi-Kígyós-csatorna about five kilometers north of the border with Serbia .

history

The first documentary mention was made in 1177 as Borsódszentlőrinc. The place was uninhabited in the first half of the 18th century. Resettlement began in 1781. After the First World War, the village briefly belonged to the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (1918-21). In 1946/47 the German population was resettled to Germany.

In 2001, 97.6% Hungarians, 1.17% Croats, 0.46% Serbs, 0.39% Germans and 0.31% others lived in Bácsborsód

In Bácsborsód, roads no. 5505 and no. 5508 intersect. The Bácsbokod -Bácsborsód train station to the north of the village is connected to the railway line from Kiskunhalas to Baja .
