The Bácsalmás District (Hungarian Bácsalmási járás ) is a district in the south of Bács-Kiskun County . It was created after the dissolution of the small areas (Hungarian kistérség ) in early 2013 from the small area Bácsalmás (Hungarian Bácsalmási kistérség ) and parts of the small area Baja (Hungarian Bajai kistérség ). The district borders on Serbia in the south with 5 communities (Bácsborsód, Katymár, Madaras, Kunbaja and Csikéria) . The seat of the district is the largest and only town in Bácsalmás , which is home to around a third of the district's population.
