Bácsbokod ( German : Wikitsch , Croatian : Bikić ) is a large southern Hungarian municipality in the small area of Baja in Bács-Kiskun County . It is located around 15 km southeast of Baja on the Hungarian- Serbian border.
In the south of the village is the train station on the Bátaszék -Baja- Kiskunhalas railway line .
history
After the end of the Turkish wars at the beginning of the 18th century, the largely depopulated area of Danube Swabia was repopulated. They formed the bulk of the population until they were expelled after World War II . Then Hungarians displaced from Czechoslovakia were settled here. Today around 97% of the population are Hungarians, 2% German and 1% other.
