Hercegszántó ( Croatian : Santovo , Serbian : Сантово) is a municipality in the Batschka , in Bács-Kiskun County in the southwest Great Plain ( Hungarian Nagy-Alföld ) in Hungary .
The place is located on the border triangle Hungary - Croatia - Serbia . Immediately after the southern exit of the town is the border crossing to Serbia. The next larger towns are Mohács , about 25 kilometers to the west in Baranya County , and Baja , 30 kilometers to the north, both on the Danube .
Hercegszántó has 1,906 inhabitants. About 12 percent of the population are Croatians , 4 percent Serbs . The most famous son of the village was the former football player Flórián Albert .
