Felix Kamphausen (born April 14, 1944 in Krefeld ) is a German writer .

Life

After his parents divorced, Felix Kamphausen grew up temporarily with his grandmother and later in a home . From 1959 to 1964, his youth were marked by frequent violations of the law and juvenile sentences. In 1970 he was arrested after allegedly attempting to murder millionaire Theo Schubert on behalf of his wife and her lover . The trial against Kamphausen attracted attention in the rainbow press under the name of the " Minouche Trial " and ended in 1973 with Kamphausen's sentencing to life imprisonment , while his accomplices had already got away with relatively low prison sentences . In 1974, after the revision of his judgment had been rejected by the Federal Court of Justice , Kamphausen managed to escape from prison for twelve days ; With this spectacular action he supposedly wanted to bring about a resumption of his trial and a fairer verdict ; the attempt failed, however, and ended with Kamphausen being arrested again .

In the period that followed, the inmate Kamphausen, who had finished secondary school in prison , began to work as an artist : In addition to graphic works, he produced prose works and poems in which he dealt with his life as a prisoner. After a number of prominent authors (including Heinrich Böll , Ingeborg Drewitz and Luise Rinser ) campaigned for his pardon , Kamphausen was released early from prison at the end of 1985. The author, who has been married since 1987, now lives in Düsseldorf . He is the founder of the non-profit association for prisoners "Help for self-help".
