Felix Locher

Felix Maurice Locher (born July 16, 1882 in Bern , † March 13, 1969 in Los Angeles ) was a Swiss inventor and actor . He is the father of film actor Jon Hall .

Life

Locher was an inventor who owned over 100 patents and copyrights relating to a unique mapping system. At the age of 73, he was discovered by his son Jon Hall's director and persuaded to play an old Tahitian chief in the  1957 film Hell Ship Mutiny . From then on, he appeared in numerous television productions in the 1950s and 1960s, until his death in 1969 at the age of 86.

He starred in Star Trek  and had guest appearances on television series such as:  Solo for ONCEL , Geächtet  (1966), Combat!  (1962/1965/1966), Kobra, take over  (1967) with  Joseph Campanella , Rauchende Colts  (1968) with Richard Hale  and  Bill Erwin, among others,  and in the The Twilight Zone episode The Silence .

In the film he starred in the horror films House of the Damned  (1963) and Frankenstein's Daughter (1958) by Richard E. Cunha .

Locher was one of only eleven Star Trek cast members  born in the 19th century. Of these, he is the oldest, so that he has the record as the oldest actor in “Star Trek” history .

He is buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery  in Hollywood .
