Jon Hall (born February 23, 1915 in Fresno , California - † December 13, 1979 in Los Angeles , California; actually Charles Hall Locher ) was an American film actor .

Life

Charles Hall Locher was born as the son of a native Swiss Felix Locher (1882-1969) and spent his childhood in Tahiti . Father Felix also became an actor at the age of 73 after visiting his son on the film set and was discovered there by a director .

Jon Hall made his film debut in Woman Must Dress , initially under the name Charles Locher, but initially only played minor roles, around 1935 in Mutiny on the Bounty or Charlie Chan in Shanghai . The actor became famous in 1937 for John Ford's film drama ... then came the hurricane alongside Dorothy Lamour . ... then came the hurricane based on a novel by the writer duo Charles Bernard Nordhoff and James Norman Hall , where James Norman Hall was the uncle of Jon Hall. In 1934 he married Frances Langford , and the marriage was divorced the following year.
