Felix Reimann

Felix Reimann (born December 8, 1964 in Bergneustadt ) is a German flautist and conductor .

Life

Felix Reimann grew up in Bergneustadt, where he also attended the Wüllenweber grammar school.

Felix Reimann studied at the music academies in Munich and Cologne with professors Paul Meisen and Andràs Adorjàn . In 1994 he completed his flute studies at the Cologne University of Music with the concert exam with distinction. He was awarded first prizes in various competitions ( German Music Competition 1991 and 1992 together with the Diaphonia Wind Quintet, Tonger Competition Cologne 1992). He began as an orchestral musician at the Mainz State Theater and in 1993 became principal flutist of the Dortmund Philharmonic .

Felix Reimann has played solo concerts as a flautist internationally and has given master classes in Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Shenjang China and in Weikersheim.

Already during his studies Reimann sat in the conducting classes in Munich (Prof. Michels) and Cologne (Prof. Wangenheim) and founded various youth and student orchestras. In 1982 the Young Orchestra Initiative in Bergneustadt and in 1984 the Young Ensemble Oberberg student orchestra . With the two orchestras he developed a considerable repertoire and went on concert tours to Paris and Prague. Between 1983 and 1990 he organized several concert series for the Oberbergischer Kreis . Projects in Lausanne, Paris and Cologne and with the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra in Essen allowed him to gain further experience as a conductor.

Services

In 2000 Reimann founded the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra Dortmund together with soloists and section leaders from renowned orchestras in North Rhine-Westphalia and, within the short period of its existence, led it to international success with two concert tours to China and Italy.

In 2003/04 Felix Reimann reformed the children's and youth concert program of the Dortmund Philharmonic and conducted numerous concerts with the Dortmund Philharmonic. In addition to the project Concerts in Schools (2003), the youth concerts A DJ dances waltz with the Philharmonic (2004) with Maurice Ravel's La Valse , Was das ein Jitz (2005) with Richard Strauss Till Eulenspiegel , or Meeresbilder (2006) with Claude Debussys la mer and Scandals in Music (2006) with Igor Stravinsky Le sacre du printemps extraordinary projects for young listeners.

Inspired by Simon Rattle's Rhythm Is It! In 2005 Reimann initiated the big dance project Der Feuervogel in the Dortmund Phoenix Hall for the 100th anniversary of the Dortmund Theater . In this project, 300 children and young people worked together with the Dortmund Philharmonic under his direction. 100 dancers on the podium under the guidance of the choreographer Woijtek Hankiewicz, 180 in various tasks from mask to stage design and another 20 selected young people who were even able to take part in the ranks of the Philharmonic as instrumentalists. With other dance projects such as Debussy's toy box, also with the Dortmund Philharmonic, and Don Giovanni's Prague Love and Carnival of Animals with the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra Dortmund , Reimann is emphatically committed to musical work with children and young people.

Together with the Italian puppeteer Caterina Vitiello and the Teatro San Carlino, Reimann developed the genre of the puppet opera . From 2005 to 2008 the Mozart operas Entführung aus dem Serail , Figaros Hochzeit and Die Zauberflöte were released and premiered in the Roman Philharmonic.

Guest Conductor

In 2008 Reimann conducted the Nashville Chamber Orchestra in Nashville USA. In 2009 Reimann was a guest in San Remo with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo. In addition to Le boef sur le toit , he conducted the world premiere of Achim Paul Schneider's Concerto for Jazz violin with the soloist Wolfgang Mertes.

Recordings

With the Cologne Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Helmut Müller Brühl, Reimann recorded the Triple Concerto for flute, violin (Ingeborg Scherer) and harpsichord (Andreas Spering) at Naxos.

As a conductor, Reimann recorded several CDs with the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra Dortmund. There are recordings of the Symphony in A major KV 202, the Symphony in D major Haffner by WA Mozart and Schubert's Symphony No. 5 in B flat major . The CD with the Suite in B minor by Johann Sebastian Bach is in preparation.
