Felix Scheder-Bieschin (manager, 1899)
Felix Scheder-Bieschin (born October 22, 1899 , † September 2, 1940 at sea) was a German economic manager , naval officer and regatta sailor .
Life
After serving in the Imperial Navy , Scheder-Bieschin studied law and economics . After initial activities, including at Possehl in Lübeck , he became managing director of the Nordseewerke in Emden in 1934 . From April 1, 1937 until his death he was chairman of the board of Howaldtswerke AG in Kiel, until 2012 Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW).
In 1936 he was an Olympic participant in the sailing competitions off Kiel with the crew of the 8mR racing yacht Germania III and won the bronze medal.
As corvette captain of the reserve, Felix Scheder-Bieschin fell on September 2, 1940 on the return journey from Norway by a torpedo attack.
His son is the German entrepreneur and ocean sailor of the same name, Felix Scheder-Bieschin (* 1929).
