Femke Bol (born February 23, 2000 in Amersfoort ) is a Dutch hurdler who specializes in the 400 meter distance .

Athletic career

Femke Bol achieved her first international successes in 2015 when she was eliminated in the first round of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Tbilisi in the 400-meter run with 57.41 seconds. Two years later she reached the semi-finals at the U20 European Championships in Grosseto over this distance and was eliminated there with 54.74 s. At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama , she won the B-final in the Dutch 4-by-400-meter relay with 3: 29.03 min and then won the 400-meter hurdles at the U20 European Championships in Borås, Sweden in 56.25 s. She also qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where she reached the semifinals and was eliminated there with 56.37 s. With the season she reached the finals and was seventh in 3: 27.89 min. In July 2020, she set a new national record in Arnhem with 54.47 s, improving Ester Goossens' old record from 1998 by almost two tenths of a second. Just two weeks later, she ran 53.79 seconds there, making her the fourth fastest U23 athlete of all time.

In 2019, Bol became the Dutch champion in the 400-meter hurdles.
