The Fendorf Glacier is a wide glacier in the Heritage Range of the Ellsworth Mountains in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It flows north from the eastern flank of the Gifford Peaks , where it eventually unites with the Dobbratz Glacier .
The glacier was from the United States Geological Survey as part of the acquisition of the Ellsworth Mountains in the years 1961-1966 through site surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy mapped. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1966 after Lieutenant Commander James E. Fendorf (1928-1999), a United States Navy pilot who had served in the VX-6 squadron during Operation Deep Freeze in 1966.
