The Dobbratz Glacier is a broad tributary glacier in the Heritage Range , the southern part of the Antarctic Ellsworth Mountains . It is fed by the ice that flows from the plain west of the Heritage Range over the southern part of a step, the White Escarpment , into the valleys of the Heritage Range. The glacier flows in a north-easterly direction, where it merges with the Fendorf glacier . From here it flows in a northerly direction between the Watlack Hills and the Webers Peaks until it finally meets the Splettstoesser Glacier .
The glacier got its name from a geological expedition from the University of Minnesota , which explored the area in the summer of 1963/64. He was named after Major Joseph R. Dobbratz (* 1928), one of the pilots of the United States Marine Corps , who supported the expedition there.
