Ferdinand Reinhardt Bie (born February 16, 1888 in Drammen , † November 9, 1961 in Kristiansund ) was a Norwegian athlete .

At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 , Bie was tenth in the long jump with 6.75 m. In the decathlon he gave up.

In the pentathlon , the points were awarded according to placement in the individual disciplines. The American Jim Thorpe won with 7 points for four first places and a third place in the javelin throw . Ferdinand Bie came second with 21 points. A year later Thorpe was disqualified for playing baseball for money . Like Hugo Wieslander in the decathlon , Bie was subsequently declared Olympic champion in 1913.

It was not until 1982 that Jim Thorpe was rehabilitated by the IOC and posthumously declared Olympic champion in both disciplines . At the same time it was determined that the other official result should not be changed. This means that Thorpe and Bie are both listed as Olympic champions in the 1912 pentathlon.
