Ferdinand Erpenbeck

Ferdinand Erpenbeck (born January 13, 1921 in Osnabrück ; † January 20, 1997 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending primary school, Erpenbeck first completed an apprenticeship as a gardener and took part in the Second World War as a soldier from 1941 to 1945 . In 1947 he completed his master gardener exam, then became the owner of a tree nursery and was a member of the horticultural committee and the plant protection committee of the Weser-Ems Chamber of Agriculture . From 1987 to 1989 he was President of the Association of German Tree Nurseries (BdB).

Political party

In 1945 Erpenbeck co-founded and chaired the Osnabrück youth ring. From 1948 to 1950 he was the diocesan youth leader of the Catholic Youth . He joined the CDU in 1952 and was district chairman of the CDU Osnabrück-Stadt from 1960 to 1970. Deputy chairman since 1963, from 1970 to 1976 he was chairman of the CDU district of Osnabrück-Emsland.

MP

Erpenbeck was a councilor for the city of Osnabrück from 1952 to 1991, where he was elected chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in 1961.

He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1972, where he represented the constituency of Osnabrück . From September 10, 1979, when he replaced the retired MP Franz-Josef Nordlohne , until 1980 he was again a member of the Bundestag.

Public offices

Erpenbeck was Mayor of Osnabrück from 1956 to 1970.
