Ferdinand de Lannoy
Ferdinand de Lannoy , Heer van Laroche, (* 1520 in Steenokkerzeel ; † 1579 Visenay, near Dole ) was governor of Holland in the Spanish Netherlands .
Life
Ferdinand de Lannoy comes from the Flemish noble family Lannoy . He was employed as a condottiere by Charles V and later by Philip II . After the capture of the governor Maximilien de Hénin-Liétard by the rebellious nobility , Luis de Zúñiga y Requesens appointed Ferdinand de Lannoy governor of Holland, Zeeland and Utrecht on January 6, 1574. In 1552 he was deputy to William I of Orange . When the revolt of the Dutch nobility broke out, he chose the Spanish side. In 1574 he was governor of Artois . Ferdinand de Lannoy was the first count of Bojano .
