Ferdinand von Merveldt (politician, 1840)

Count Ferdinand Anton Wilhelm Maria Franz Clemens Hubert von Merveldt (born March 18, 1840 in Beckum ; † November 3, 1905 ) was a Prussian manorial owner and politician.

He came from the Westphalian nobility of the Merveldt from the Münsterland. His parents were the landowner Karl von Merveldt and his third wife Marie von Vittinghoff. In 1862 he married Countess Mathilde von Wolff-Metternich zu Gymnich, who was a Catholic. He was the owner of the manors Lembeck and Hagenbeck, Geinege, Werne, Westerwinkel, Wolbeck, Huxdieck, Seppenhagen, Freeckenhorst, Empte and Ostendorf. In addition, he was Hereditary Marshal of the Principality of Münster, Castle Captain of Münster and Chamberlain .

In 1875 he was a representative of the Duke of Croÿ participant in the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia . From 1880 to 1885 he was an elected member of the Provincial Parliament for the knighthood in the constituency of East Münster. He was a member of the Prussian manor house .
