Ferdinando Antonio Lazzari
Ferdinando Antonio Lazzari (born April 11, 1678 in Bologna , † April 19, 1754 there ) was an Italian composer and religious.
Live and act
Fra Ferdinando Lazzari entered a minorite monastery in Bologna in 1693 , where he made his profession a year later . From 1702 he was choirmaster of the monastery. According to Padre Martini, he learned to play the organ with Padre Vastamigli, the violin with Domenico Gabrielli and he was instructed in composition by Giovanni Paolo Colonna and Pietro degli Antonii (1639–1720). After various positions in Bolognese churches, Lazzari was appointed to the Basilica of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari in Venice in 1705 , where he worked until he was blind in 1713. Lazzari then lived in the Franciscan monastery of Bologna until his death in 1754. Lazzari was buried in the church belonging to the monastery, today's Basilica di San Francesco .
