Fernando Blanco y Lorenzo OP (born May 10, 1812 in Pola de Lena , Asturias , † June 6, 1881 in Valladolid ) was a Spanish religious and archbishop of Valladolid

Life

He made his profession in the order of the Dominicans. The ordination received Fernando Blanco y Lorenzo in December 1834th

On October 7, 1857 he was elected Bishop of Ávila . He received his episcopal ordination on April 11, 1858 in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, the local Archbishop Miguel García Cuesta ; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Orense , José Ávila Lamas , and the Bishop of Lugo , José de los Ríos y Lamadrid . Fernando Blanco y Lorenzo was a participant in the First Vatican Council . He was considered a great preacher. On July 23, 1875 he was raised to Archbishop of Valladolid.

Fernando Blanco y Lorenzo died in the episcopate and was buried in the Cathedral of Valladolid.
