Fernando José Castro Aguayo (born July 29, 1951 in Caracas , Venezuela ) is a Venezuelan clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Margarita .

Life

Fernando José Castro Aguayo joined the Opus Dei personal prelature and John Paul II ordained him a priest on May 31, 1984 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on June 27, 2009 as auxiliary bishop in Caracas and titular bishop of Ampora . The Archbishop of Caracas, Jorge Liberato Cardinal Urosa Savino , donated him episcopal ordination on September 26th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Ubaldo Ramón Santana Sequera FMI , Archbishop of Maracaibo , and Baltazar Enrique Porras Cardozo , Archbishop of Mérida .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Margarita on August 4, 2015 . The inauguration took place on October 10 of the same year.
